BORN 31ST JULY 2001 BECAME AN ANGEL 31ST JANUARY 2008
Robbie lived in Balloch with his mum, dad and wee sister Rosie.Julie.
He was born healthy on time and developed normally until 20 months old when he woke up and had what
we thought was a shake or shiver. These continued more frequently over the next few days. After
taking him to the doctors where they seemed really concerned about Robbie's developement delay which
we had never noticed, being our first child we watched Robbie reach milestones which to us seemed to
be on time. Talking, crawling, standing, pulling himself up at furniture and playing with toys for
his age.
Any developement Robbie had deteriorated rapidly until it was no more, we were doing everything for
him. He was being treated for myoclonic epilepsy as they had no diagnosis for us at this stage.
After nearly 2 years and more deterioration the doctors did further tests where this confirmed
Robbie was now blind and he was then diagnosed with INFANTILE BATTENS DISEASE which is the most
aggresive form of Battens. At this time I was pregnant with my second child and had about 6 weeks to
go. They asked if I wanted tested then but what would have been the point. We decided to wait till
after the birth and try enjoy our first few months with our new baby.
This was'nt to be and after about 6 months we had Rosie.J. tested and it was confimed that she also
had the disease. We were absolutely devastated. How could life be so cruel, not only were we going
to lose one child now another.
Robbie was such a handsome beautiful and wonderful boy who touched the hearts of everyone around
him. Even people who had just maybe read his story in the paper. Our hearts are breaking and we miss
him so much we still cant really believe he is not here. Rosie keeps us going, we try live day to
day but it is hard not to think ahead as we know what is in store.

ROBBIE NOW HAS A NEW LITTLE SISTER ROXIE JOY WHO WAS BORN ON 24TH JUNE 2009. SHE IS HEALTHY AND FREE
FROM BATTENS DISEASE.

your mum must be a very strong lady to pick herself up and carry on with things. my heart is melting for your family and i can hardly see though the tears to write this. i hope that your new little sister brings as much joy to the family as you did and little big sis brings.

Hi Robbie well what about your auntie aly having her wee baby girl early. Baby Lara born weighing 6lb 13oz. Not sure if it was last night or this morning, if it was this morning that is the day before your birthday. She must have wanted to be a July baby just like you and Rosie.J and not wait till August. You watch over them.

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your second wee sister - you have looked after them very well and I know will be continue to be the best big brother keeping an eye on both of them. They are very lucky having such a wonderful big brother to watch over them and keep them safe and sound.
Think of you often, expecially when there is an extra bright star in the sky.

BIG BROTHER AGAIN
Well Robbie your new wee sister finally decided to appear on wednesday night. ROXIE, JOY HOLLERN. Born 24th June at 9.10 pm weighing 8lb 2oz. She put your mum thru her paces as you will have seen but in the end she arrived safe and sound. She is now keeping us well and truly on our toes. Will get a wee picture of her on your site so all your visitors can have a wee look if they want. Anyway will need to go for now as she does'nt allow me much time at the minute to myself. Poor Rosie.J is having to get used to her wanting all attention so you watch over her.

What about your wee sis Rosie.J. She is getting to be more well known than you in hospital, becoming a regular visitor have a word with her. Now she has a broken knee and in a full leg plaster even you never managed that. Anyway you look after her my handsome boy. Mum loves you.

TEARS AND MORE TEARS
Morning Robbie, well I'm sure you seen all the tears and what not on friday. I know you will have been watching over me and giving me the strength that it took to finally have to empty your drawers and cupboard of your clothes. It would never have been done all would have been left the same forever more if I had my way but with the new baby your new wee sister who is due in 8weeks we just don't have the space to put her stuff. Its all been put safely in a suitcase and put in the loft where I can always get to it. I have left a few things in your wardrobe as I could'nt completely empty it. Your school uniform and your dressing up costumes - SHREK AND SUPERMAN - which I felt was fitting and appropriate. You had some amount of clothes, you were a very lucky boy, all the best of gear. Some of it you did'nt even get to wear as you must have go it christmas time just before you got your angel wings. I am giving those to your friend Alex as he is getting a very big boy, so you can look down and see how smart he will look. A weight has been lifted since doing it, and at least we can actually get in your room upstairs again as it was so full of stuff which has been getting put in it over the past year. All your cuddlies are still on top of your drawers, I am sure your new wee sis will have lots of fun with them in years to come and we will be telling her stories all about you. Watch over Rosie.j at the moment she is having no rest at all from ongoing seizure activity which we are trying to resolve so look after her. Anyway just wanted to talk to you.

Morning Robbie have put a couple of pics of you on when you were at nursery. The one that is on your main page at the minute, your dad asked if it was you or Rosie.j. I think when you were a bit thinner in the face pictures of you and her a very hard sometimes to tell you both apart which I love to see. Anyway just thought I'd explain incase your thinking "OH MUM WHAT ARE YOU DOING".
